Hardin County Real Estate And Community Information

Known at one time as the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln, Hardin County, Kentucky is home to some 105,000 residents. Hardin County traces its origins back to 1792 when it was formed from the neighboring Nelson County. The nearby Fort Knox Military Installation is a massive source of revenue for the economy of the county.


Hardin County contains the following cities:

Elizabethtown

Elizabethtown (also known as "E-Town") serves as the county seat of Hardin County and is home to an estimated 29,900 residents.

Muldraugh

As part of the Elizabethtown–Fort Knox Metropolitan Area, Muldraugh has around 980 residents.

Radcliff

Some 22,400 people live in the city of Radcliff. The economy of Radcliff benefits greatly by the nearby Fort Knox U.S. Army base.  Saunder Springs Nature Preserve is a 100 acre park perfect for hiking and picnicking.  It's filled with hiking trails, creeks and the beauty of nature.  It's a great place relax and wade in the cool water streams while observing nature. 

Sonora

Home to about 500 residents, Sonora was originally a construction camp for the railroad in the 1850's.

Upton

Originally known as Leesville, Upton has a population of about 680 people.

Vine Grove

Located in the northern end of Hardin County, Vine Grove is home to around 6,000 residents.

West Point

Founded in 1789, West Point has a population of about 780 people.

Radcliff also has it’s share of great food. Colton's Steak House & Grill serves the best steaks in town. Other top restaurants include Tuscany Italian Restaurant, Woo Hoo It's Greek Food, and Tokyo.

Hardin County Parks & Recreation

There are plenty of great opportunities for outdoor activities in Hardin County. If you love baseball and soccer, then Elizabethtown has what you need with its Elizabethtown Sports Park, featuring 12 baseball diamonds and 12 fields for soccer and other sports. Hardin County Education

Students living in Hardin County attend schools in 3 school districts. Most of the county is cared for by Hardin County Schools, with Elizabethtown Independent Schools serving Elizabethtown students, and West Point Independent School District handling schools in West Point. There are also five private schools in Hardin County, including Elizabethtown Christian Academy, St. James Catholic School, North Hardin Christian School, and Gloria Dei Lutheran School.
